Physicians in the Foot & Ankle Specialists group are involved in the local surgical residency training programs; we take pride in educating tomorrow’s foot and ankle surgeons in the most advanced and proven surgical techniques available. Many patients are referred to us from their primary care and family practice offices as well as foot and ankle physicians and other physician specialists around the tri-state to treat complex adult, pediatric, diabetic and infectious foot and ankle disorders and deformities. Joining the Foot and Ankle specialists’ team in 2013, Dr. Petre serves the Blue Ash and Cheviot offices. He is on staff at several local hospitals with a majority of that time at Mercy West hospital where he sees patients both inpatient and at the West wound care center. In addition to these responsibilities he is a member of the faculty for two area residency programs working with the residents of The Jewish Hospital and the Tri-health Podiatric residency programs. In his free time Dr. Petre enjoys spending his time with his wife and 2 boys hiking, biking and exploring all the other outdoor activities around the greater Cincinnati area.

Dr. Cary Copeland is the founding member of Foot and Ankle Specialists. Dr. Copeland’s vision has always been to bring together highly skilled podiatric surgeons, who share a commitment to educating the next generation of surgeons into one group to provide the best foot and ankle care in the tri-state region. Dr. Copeland founded the Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Department at the University of Cincinnati in 2007 and the Medical/Surgical Residency Program in 2010. During this time, Dr. Copeland served as the Department Director for Podiatric Medicine and Surgery from 2007 until 2017 and served as the Residency Director since its inception of 2010 until 2017. Dr. Copeland also served as the Residency Director of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at the Jewish Hospital of Cincinnati from 1994-2014. For over two decades, Dr. Copeland has trained the next generation of podiatric surgeons. In semi-retirement, Dr. Copeland enjoys boating, working out and plays the saxophone in three local jazz ensembles.
